Steak or Fish

A standard was set at a young age, an impossible age, to fathom the complexity of romance. The standard was; a loyal, rich, gorgeous, active, strong, monogamous, romantic, leader, business owner, well rounded type of partner. But, throughout ones life of negative experiences, the standard was unmet or worse, no longer a standard. Tarnished from the multitude of human heartbreaks from early childhood to middle-aged adulthood, the standard was completely erased. After countless self affirmations that love doest exist, loyalty and monogamy aren't humanly feasible, a young soul reminded the heart that love is the standard you make it. Just, because one has only witnessed failed attempts at love, doesn't mean the love you want to indulge in doesn't exist. When you think you're in love and you have to question that love, are you in love or are you settling for that love because the real love you want is rare and harder to grasp. I love a perfectly prepared filet mignon, the only steak I will eat, I indulge it, it melts in my mouth and touches my soul, but the richness and delicacy of fish...
